Covering nearly 1,000 square kilometres of forests, lagoons, rocky outcrops and grasslands, the park supports an incredible diversity of wildlife.

Embark on an exciting morning jeep safari as nature awakens. Keep watch for elusive Sri Lankan leopards, Asian elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, spotted deer, sambars, wild boar, jackals, mongooses and water buffalo. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy spotting magnificent peacocks, painted storks, eagles, kingfishers, bee-eaters and numerous migratory birds.

After lunch at Ekho Safari Hotel, return for another thrilling afternoon safari. Different animals become active later in the day, offering fresh opportunities for remarkable wildlife photography and unforgettable encounters.

En route, stop to explore the magnificent Galle Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later extensively fortified by the Dutch, Galle Fort is considered the finest preserved colonial fortress in Asia.

Walk through charming cobbled streets lined with beautifully restored colonial buildings, elegant churches, boutique galleries and quaint cafés overlooking the Indian Ocean. Every corner tells stories of centuries of maritime history, international trade and cultural exchange.

Enjoy lunch at the famous Galle Castle Chinese Restaurant before continuing to Hikkaduwa.

The remainder of the day is yours to relax beside the turquoise waters of Sri Lanka's southern coast. Hikkaduwa is famous for its golden beaches, coral reefs and spectacular sunsets, providing the perfect ending to your wildlife journey.
